Claudy Jules, Ph.D., has over 25 years of global experience in professional services, technology, and leadership. He specializes in helping executives and boards at major companies—both pre- and post-IPO—along with private equity firms and their portfolio companies enhance organizational health, strengthen leadership, execute strategy, and operationalize value creation plans.
Dr. Jules has extensive private capital experience spanning venture capital, growth equity, late-stage equity, and buyouts. He has partnered with clients who manage assets ranging from under $1 billion to over $100 billion. His background as a C-suite strategy advisor, assessor, and operator, combined with his deep knowledge of the complexities of various asset classes and firm sizes, gives him a unique perspective on deal sourcing, due diligence, CEO selection, and portfolio value creation.
Most recently, Dr. Jules served as Head of Human Capital for Flagship Pioneering’s Origination business unit. There, he directed talent and organization initiatives and led a team of HR/talent-focused operating partners who drove value creation across 26 portfolio companies.
Previously, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he co-led the Organization service line for Fuel (Startup & VC practice) and the Private Capital practice. Additionally, he led McKinsey’s work on how private equity portfolio operating groups can effectively leverage talent operating partners and how best to transition, counsel, and develop CEOs of private equity-backed portfolio companies. Notably, he co-authored “Leadership Lessons on Scaling”, an acclaimed McKinsey study that offers insights into the strategies founder-CEOs and investors use to grow and scale their businesses.
He has partnered with founders, CEOs, management teams, investors, and corporate innovators on critical issues, including commercial and talent due diligence, growth strategy, international expansion, organization design, CEO excellence, executive transitions, top team effectiveness, post-merger integration, and transformation. Earlier, he was the Global Managing Director of Accenture Strategy’s Leadership Advisory practice, held an executive role at Google, and served as an Operating Advisor at CapitalG.
In addition to his work with FMG Leading, Dr. Jules is the founder and CEO of Jules Advisory Services, LLC, an advisory practice that provides counsel to private capital investors, operating partners, founders, CEOs, boards, and executive teams across various industries. Its aim is to maximize EBITDA and drive value creation through talent diligence, leadership and organization. An accomplished strategist, operator, executive, and industry innovator, he is also the author of “Building Better Organizations: How to Fuel Growth and Lead in a Digital Era”.
Dr. Jules holds a master’s degree in Organization Development from The American University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior with a concentration in Social and Organizational Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. He completed clinical training in Gestalt Therapy applications to organizational consulting, coaching, and intensive group work following his doctoral studies.
Additionally, he has extensive training in group dynamics from the NTL and Tavistock Institutes. He is also skilled in the Intentional Change Theory method for executive and team coaching and has experience with several psychometric assessments, including DiSC, the Hogan Leadership Suite, the Emotional Competence Inventory 360, FIRO-B, MBTI, and Birkman method.
