Former healthcare executive shares best-practices for building a physician leadership development pipeline.
Boston, MA – April 26, 2018 – FMG Leading’s Healthcare Principal Jennifer Perry delivered the opening-day keynote at The American Association for Physician Leadership’s 2018 Summit in Boston, Massachusetts. The keynote was built in part from learnings shared in FMG Leading’s recent whitepaper “Turning Great Doctors Into Great Leaders”, co-authored by Jennifer, FMG Leading Chairman Dr. Foster Mobley, and CEO Dr. Matt Brubaker. The whitepaper was also the inspiration for the recent Harvard Business Review article that Jennifer co-authored, titled “Most Doctors Have Little or No Management Training, and That’s a Problem”, published in December 2017.
Jennifer’s keynote, titled “Developing Physician Leaders – Building the Capacity to Lead” focused on the strategies required to build a development pipeline to support doctors as they grow into expanded leadership roles. The talk also highlighted the varying skills required at each of the 5 levels of physician leadership, as well as ways to address the most common strengths and leadership gaps doctors display. Throughout the keynote, Jennifer shared learnings and best-practices from FMG Leading’s 3 decades of experience working with thousands of leaders at a wide range of healthcare organizations.
