Richard Aldersea

Chief Strategy Officer

About

Richard Aldersea helps owners, CEOs, senior leaders, and investors create the strategic clarity, organizational discipline, and leadership alignment required to accelerate growth and build enterprise value. His background spans senior operating and advisory roles across global consulting, professional services, and a broad range of industries, with a focus on growth strategy, profitability, competitive advantage, valuation, and successful exit preparation.

Richard began his career on the London Stock Exchange. He later served as CEO of CDR International, where he helped transform the firm from a relatively unknown company with $3M in revenue and three local employees into a high-end brand leader with more than 50 employees globally, a network of 100-plus consultants, and revenues approaching $40M. He then guided CDR through its acquisition by MercerDelta and remained for 18 months to lead the integration effort and help establish the senior management team’s business strategy and operating discipline.

At FMG Leading, Richard brings that operator and transaction experience to firms navigating growth, ownership complexity, and investor expectations. He advises professional services and private equity firms on aligning owner intent, CEO priorities, and investor requirements so leadership teams can move with focus, execute against a clear roadmap, and position the business for stronger performance and successful divestiture.

Richard’s work centers on turning transformation moments into durable business outcomes: sharpening strategy, removing barriers to execution, strengthening operating effectiveness, improving customer experience, and aligning corporate objectives with a shared vision for growth and shareholder return.

Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies, with a concentration on Organizational Development, from the University of Central England, in Birmingham, U.K. An invaluable advisor with unique insight into what makes a business work, Richard has been invited to join several boards, all within professional services, including Bates Group (financial advisory), Sitka Technologies (sustainable technology) and Fierce Conversations (training and leader development).

Richard resides in eclectic Durango, Colorado with his family.
